Day 1 – Lago Trasimeno
Arrival in Passignano sul Trasimeno, a small fishermen’s town with its rare example of a triangular-shaped tower. Boarding ferry for Isola Maggiore, the island where time would seem to have stopped. Visit to the church of Saint Michael the Archangel and the Lace-making Museum. Lunch in a typical restaurant then journey by boat to Castiglione del Lago, a fortified town of extraordinary beauty. Trip around the walls with panoramic views over Lake Trasimeno and tour of Palazzo della Corgna, originally belonging to the lords of Castiglione del Lago and of Città della Pieve. Transfer to Arezzo in the evening for dinner in hotel and overnight stay.

Day 2: Arezzo – Sansepolcro
Breakfast in the hotel, followed by tour of Arezzo, a city of Etruscan origins, preserving the image of a Medieval city which is dominated by the Cathedral and Medici Fortress. Visit to the incredible cycle of frescoes by Piero della Francesca and the Archeological Museum, custodian of the renowned “Chimera of Arezzo” and other, most precious Etruscan artifacts. Lunch booked in a restaurant.
Transfer to San Sepolcro, birthplace of the illustrious Piero della Francesca, where some of his works are conserved. Works by other important painters from the Renaissance period and the Mannerist movement, like Matteo di Giovanni, Luca Signorelli, il Perugino and Rosso Fiorentino, are also conserved in some of the town’s churches. Evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Cortona – Lucignano
Breakfast in the hotel, followed by transfer to Cortona, a town of Etruscan origins, dominating the Val di Chiana as far as Mount Amiata, outlined against the horizon. The layout and characteristics of the town make the visit to Cortona particularly captivating. The town conserves works by Beato Angelico, Luca Signorelli and Lorenzetti, which, in themselves, make this a visit not to be missed. Lunch in a characteristic restaurant then transfer to Lucignano in the afternoon, most unusual in its elliptical urban planning, entirely enclosed within its turreted walls. This labyrinth layout makes Lucignano especially characteristic and absolutely worth a visit. Evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Siena
Breakfast in the hotel, followed by transfer to Siena. Tour of the “City of the Palio”, precious jewel of Tuscany, famous throughout the world. Piazza del Campo, the symbol and very heart of the city, retains, intact, the original division of the paving of the square in nine sections, dating back to the Medieval period. The Palazzo Comunale faces onto this square, overshadowed by the magnificent Torre del Mangia. Lunch in a typical restaurant and departure in the afternoon for the return journey.
